Jupiter

Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system. Named after the ruler of the Roman pantheon (known as Zeus to the Greeks), in mythology Jupiter was associated with wisdom, victory, and justice. In keeping with its large size, Jupiter expands or exaggerates. It represents the ability to reach beyond our present horizons and look for the bigger plan or grander vision, and it carries with it the optimism and confidence to carry this through.
The desire to discover meaning and greater truth means Jupiter approaches life philosophically. The desire for greater knowledge inspires higher learning and is linked to universities or spiritual teachers. In addition, as the Lord of Truth, Jupiter is often associated with the judicial system, courts, and law and order.
Along with the urge to expand mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, good fortune and plenty are often associated with Jupiter. Jupiter stimulates a yearning for experience and travel to distant and exotic places. Excessive expansion, however, can bring greed, false optimism, insincerity, and an inflated ego. At its best, Jupiter represents the good-humored and generous idealist who has the faith and wisdom to make his or her large schemes a reality. Jupiter rules Sagittarius.
• Positive: desire for truth, generosity, idealism, optimism, long journeys, higher learning.
